Today is Friday, 9/14/01. Some photos gathered over the past few days.

First, from Tuesday an erie look down Lexington from 36th at a busy New York street turned ghost town. And an
orange cloud of death and destruction hanging in the distance.

The next 3 photos were shot yesterday afternoon at Union Square. Where normally the skateboarders and street performers would be holding court, there was an impromptu candlelight vigil. People gathered to the mournful sound
of a single bag pipes player. They shared their thoughts and art on papers taped to the ground.
The words are stepped around respectfully as if in a cemetary. The almost constant sounds of sirens blared.
Sounds we hardly even acknowledge now.

Here is a shot from my roof of the Empire State building about 4 PM Eastern time.
That little speck, a MIG fighter, I guess the President is in town.
